Margo’s work encompasses landscape, still life and portraits with an abstract sensibility and a love of colour. She has expanded her techniques to include oil, watercolour, collage, monoprint, woodcut prints, ink with watercolour and charcoal drawings with acrylic.
'The choice of colour pallette and the composition can help to convey different moods, from limited Old Master colours to the loud primaries; from a zoomed-in perspective to a grand open space. I also try not to be overly concerned with detail so as to encourage the viewer to form their own feelings and interpretations about what they are seeing.’
Though originally from New York, Margo has spent her adult life in her adopted city of London. Following a career as a musician, songwriter and actress, she has finally found art to be the perfect means of expression. She studies at Putney School of Art and recently Morley College and for the past thirteen years has been passionate about making art. Margo has shown her work at Putney School of Art, Sprout Arts, Wandsworth Artists Open House, Jonaquest Art, Urban Art Fair, Uthink Festival, Streatham Art23 and Parsons Green Art Festival. Her ‘Tooting Bec’ limited edition prints were acquired by London Transport Museum and ‘Beach at Carbis Bay’ was longlisted for the Jacksons Painting Prize 2021. Her painting ‘Big Fruit at Night’ was included in the Mall Galleries’ Figurative Art Now exhibition 2021.
